In cases where a convicted person does not have sufficient means to satisfy at once the pecuniary responsibilities arising from the sentence, Article 125 of the Criminal Code allows the judge to divide payment into periods and amounts. The first paragraph of Article 126 of the same legal text adds the order in which the payments are to be made: 1. to civil liability; 2. to the compensation, if any, fixed in favour of the State for the costs incurred by it; 3. to the costs of the private prosecution; 4. to other costs; and 5. What happens in those cases where the person has been sentenced as the author of a less serious crime to a fine and continues to pay the civil responsibilities after five years have passed since the sentence became final: will the penalty of a fine that has not yet begun to be paid be statute-barred? This question has been submitted to the opinion of our collaborators through a legal survey, with very interesting answers
