ABSTRACT
In the field of Forensic Psychology, we lack valid and reliable evidence that measuring a childs relationship with their primary caregivers, and there is also no theoretical framework that supports these measures. Therefore, we are not in a position to advise a model of custody that is endorsed by scientific research. The Theory of Attachment, can offer us this theoretical framework, with a structure, methodology and firm conclusions that have well studied since the middle of the last century. Therefore, the adapting of the instruments developed in attachment investigation to the forensic field is urgent, since they could be very useful for the expert evaluation, especially of the smallest children, from zero to six.
